He had been president of Shell Trading (US) Company, one of the world’s largest energy trading companies, since 1984, with responsibility for Shell’s oil trading business in the U.S., as well as a majority of Shell’s worldwide trading operations in both oil and gas. With close to 30 years in the industry, his experience encompasses all facets of the U.S. downstream business and offers a global perspective from his years in supply and trading and his involvement in three joint venture companies. Early in his career, Bob worked extensively in refining serving in various roles from technical positions to refinery operations and planning management. He also supported refinery operations from corporate offices as he worked in various roles including crude oil trading, and product supply and trading management. Immediately prior to his current position, he spent 15 years in leadership roles within downstream refining and marketing joint ventures involving Texaco, Saudi Refining and Shell in various combinations. Most recently he was Vice President of Supply for Motiva Enterprises LLC, a Saudi Refining Inc./Shell joint venture. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a minor in economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and has participated in the Executive Program at the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business. |
